Why is the contest important?

The first step to engaging the world on global issues is to learn about international issues and think about how to share them with friends, family, and colleagues.

CGS has had great success in engaging young people in the past by inviting them to submit their thoughts on the issues that are important to all of us in new and exciting ways. We strongly believe that this contest provides an important echo chamber through which the concerns of students and young people about the U.S. role in the world and a responsible foreign policy are amplified.

To that end, we want to open this process up to even more thoughtful, engaged young people.
