Global Solutions PAC supported eight of the ten newly-elected Senators. It backed Sherrod Brown (OH), Ben Cardin (MD), Bob Casey (PA), Amy Klobuchar (MN), Claire McCaskill (MO), Bernie Sanders (VT), Jon Tester (MT) and Jim Webb (VA).
In the House of Representatives, Global Solutions PAC supported 13 newly-elected Members: Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-08), Jerry McNerney (CA-11), Mazie Hirono (HI-02), Bruce Braley (IA-01), Joe Donnelly (IN-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), Keith Ellison (MN-05), Paul Hodes (NH-02), Charlie Wilson (OH-06), Betty Sutton (OH-13), Joe Sestak (PA-07), Patrick Murphy (PA-08) and Peter Welch (VT-AL). We also supported Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15) in her challenge to Congresswoman Deborah Pryce, but the results of that race in the Columbus suburbs are still pending.
One of the primary committees that Citizens for Global Solutions works with is the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. We are excited that three members of the Class of 2006 are slated to sit on this important committee. They are Senator-Elect Ben Cardin (D-MD), Bob Casey (D-PA), and Jim Webb (D-VA). Working with these new members as well as current committee leaders, Senators Joe Biden (D-DE) and Richard Lugar (R-IN), Citizens for Global Solutions is well situated to building a strong bipartisan U.S. foreign policy for the 21st Century.
